
MITCHEL P. GOLDMAN, MD

Author of the texbook, "Laser Cutaneous Surgery" and world-renowned expert on the treatment of traditional and cosmetic tattoo complications, Dr. Goldman will share his twenty years of experience handling everything from allergic reactions to migration.
Mitchel P. Goldman, M.D., is an internationally respected dermatologist Founder and Medical Director of La Jolla SpaMD as well as Dermatology/Cosmetic Laser Associates of La Jolla, Inc. A graduate of Boston University, Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa, and the Stanford University Medical School, Dr. Goldman is an Associate Clinical Professor in Medicine/Dermatology at the University of California, San Diego Medical Center. He is the Director of the Cosmetic and Vein Surgical Center of La Jolla. Dr Goldman is Board Certified by both the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society of Cosmetic Surgery. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and the American Society of Liposuction Surgery. He is a member of over 30 professional societies and serves as a medical consultant to numerous companies, including Neutrogena Dermatologics, Allergan Skincare, Johnson & Johnson Medical, Inc., Medicis Pharmaceuticals, Lumenis Laser Corporation, DUSA among others. Dr. Goldman holds practice/hospital affiliations with Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, CA. Dr. Goldman is an Associate Editor of numerous medical journals including: Dermatologic Surgery, Cosmetic Dermatology and Venous Digest. He has served in a variety of editorial positions for many other medical and scholarly publications including The Journal of Cosmetic and Laser Therapy and has authored and co-authored 12 Textbooks on Dermatology, Sclerotherapy, Ambulatory Phlebectomy, Cutaneous Laser Surgery and Dermatologic Surgery as well as over 200 peer-reviewed publications and textbook chapters. Dr. Goldman lectures both nationally and internationally on innovative surgical and treatment techniques and is a recent recipient of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery’s 21st Century Achievement Award. He has coauthored a number of medically oriented books for the general public with his wife, Dianne York-Goldman regarding teenage skincare, leg rejuvenation and proactive approach to aging. He resides in La Jolla, California with his family.

Mr. Stearns will d iscuss FDA issues pertaining to permanent makeup including pigments and topicals. He will also address the potential fallout from recent high-profile reports of allergic reactions to certain pigments. You won't want to miss this!
In Mr. Stearns is a partner in Keller and Heckman LLP's Washington, DC, office where his practice involves a wide range of issues facing manufacturers of prescription and over-the-counter drugs, medical devices, dietary supplements, and cosmetics. He helps product manufacturers evaluate the need for marketing approval from FDA, pursue appropriate clearance when necessary, and address regulatory compliance issues with marketed products (including OTC drug monographs, product labeling and promotion, and current good manufacturing practices). Mr. Stearns also works with clients to respond to FDA enforcement activities, navigate the interrelationship of the patent laws and the FDA drug approval process, communicate with Agency officials, and develop innovative strategies to deal with evolving FDA regulatory requirements. He is a frequent speaker at conferences on the legal issues involving the regulation of drugs, medical devices, and dietary supplements.
Mr. Stearns is a member of the District of Columbia and Virginia Bars.

She has lectured extensively throughout the United States and was the organizer for DermaFest for ten years. Kristanne is the Vice President of the AAM and Director of Education for the Academy.
